My role at Exide is UPS Business Development Manager based in Aurora, Illinois. I am responsible for identifying and securing incremental revenue opportunities that exist with companies such as APC, Liebert, Eaton Mitsubishi and GE Digital which support computer data center uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment.
Being a relatively new hire, Exide offers the opportunity to explore the path that’s right for you. I have a passion for business leadership and making an impact on people’s lives. Day after day I’m doing different things, facing new challenges and working in a results driven environment that supports growth and development. It is a privilege to work with colleagues that bring together diverse perspectives and backgrounds to tackle major issues or products. It has been so rewarding to be able to participate in such a range of activities that truly contribute to the company. My first few months have been extremely positive working with colleague’s utmost support coming from all directions to assist in my “settling down” period.
At this early juncture of my career, I would have to say the people I work with. Without their support I would not be able to achieve my goal of being successful in my endeavours to grow the UPS market. It is all about teamwork and playing an important leadership role in the organization. The rewarding aspect of my role is to lead teams identifying and addressing opportunities in a unique and dynamic business. Job satisfaction for me is about two things: liking what you do and being valued by the organization. I have been blessed being able to do what I really enjoy.
Family is an important part of my life. Being one of twelve siblings and my mother being one of 25 siblings taught me values you could only imagine. I love travelling and going home to Ireland to visit my relatives. Summers are spent outdoors and when possible I enjoy playing golf. I have a ways to go before I beat my sister’s eight holes in one, but for now I’ll settle for just one.
